Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people usually want to know before they join. If your question isn't here, just ask.
What is the Boynton Beach Garden Club?
The Boynton Beach Garden Club is a welcoming community of gardening enthusiasts who share a passion for plants, flowers, conservation, education, and beautifying our local environment. Members enjoy educational programs, guest speakers, gardening projects, social events, field trips, and opportunities to give back to the community.
Do I need to be an experienced gardener to join?
Not at all! We welcome everyone — from complete beginners to master gardeners. Whether you are growing your very first houseplant or have years of gardening experience, you will find a friendly and supportive group eager to share ideas and learn together.
Do I need a large yard or garden to participate?
No. Many of our members garden on patios, balconies, in containers, or in small spaces. Anyone with an interest in plants and gardens is welcome.
Do I need to live in the City of Boynton Beach to join?
No, it does not matter where you live. Many of our members live in the City of Boynton Beach, others in surrounding areas of unincorporated Palm Beach County, as well as neighboring communities like Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Lake Worth, and Lantana.
Many members are only here during the winter months, which works out well — our general club meetings run from September through May of each year.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
Members enjoy:
- Monthly educational programs and guest speakers
- Gardening and horticulture tips from experienced members, including plant sales and raffles
- Community beautification projects, like maintaining the Blue Star Memorial Marker, the Boynton Hills Neighborhood Garden, and the Schoolhouse Children's Museum Butterfly Garden
- Special workshops and field trips
- Social events and friendships
- Opportunities to support local environmental initiatives
How often does the club meet?
We meet once a month for educational programs, club business, and social time during our yearly term, which runs September through May. Dates and times are listed on our Events page.
All paid members receive a yearly Yearbook, which lists all of the club's activities, locations, dates, and times.
How much does membership cost?
Our dues are very affordable and help support club programs, scholarships, community projects, and educational activities. Only $45 a year. Dues can be paid by cash, check, or credit card.

Or simply attend a meeting and speak with one of our Membership Volunteers. We would love to welcome you!
How can I get involved in community projects?
You must be a member in good standing with the Boynton Beach Garden Club to participate in our various projects — like working in the community gardens, plant sales, and civic and special events.
Participation is always encouraged but not mandatory. We do require that each member serve on one committee each calendar year. We have so many wonderful initiatives that new members typically have no problem finding an area of interest in our club.
What makes the Boynton Beach Garden Club special?
Our members often say it's the friendships. Beyond gardening, the club provides a welcoming community where people can learn, share experiences, support one another, and make lasting connections.
